Description
Ultra Rare original WW1 United States of America Department of Justice Alien Registration Card issued to a German Citizen, Julius Sauer, February 1918 in Brooklyn NY under authority of a Presidential Proclamation November 16, 1917 requiring registration this one was at a NY Police Precinct and is signed by the Sergeant on duty, this was a horrible reality for Germans living in America as a photograph and fingerprint were required, this was associated with a criminal and was very offensive, at Wars end President Wilson ended this and ordered all Alien Registration cards to be destroyed by Christmas Day 1918. There are a handful of surviving examples of which this is one, I have only found one other example in a museum. A rare WW1 personal item that has survived and you will not see anywhere. Amazing addition to any collection. Please see all photos as they are a big part of the description. combined shipping is never a problem just ask and wait for invoice.
