    I'm always surprised things like this exist and are still intact!!
    This is a pattern issued by The American National Red Cross in 1942 for a knit muffler for the G.I.s
    This page is in relatively good shape....showing signs of an erasure where it reads "full 9 inches" seems to be the only mar
    As we know from reading history, everyone did their part for the war effort.  Ladies helped in many ways, knitting mufflers for the boys overseas in the terrible conditions of mud and cold, was one of the ways people stepped up and helped
    I love the final instructions.....don't start another garment with the leftover yard and please return the leftover yarn to the chapter.  Everything was rationed and each little bit was saved and used.
    This would be very charming framed as a reminder of sacrifices done by ordinary citizens helping in any way they could
