The plates are approximately 8.5" in diameter. There were 6 plates in this series, and this listing contains plates 2, 3 and 4. * They were made in England by Dudson China. Underneath each plate features the 50th Anniversary's Mickey ears logo.
Each plate represents one of the crowns that were placed on the turrets of Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland in California during the Golden Anniversary. Imagineer Kimberly Irvine designed these crowns and her designs were interpreted on these collector plates. Each design represents a different era at "The Happiest Place on Earth."
* Plate # 2: From 1961 to 1971, the land on the move, Tomorrowland, was just a rocket ride to imagination and beyond. (This plate is missing the black square foam piece that covers the plate when inside its box. See all photos.)
* Plate # 3: With the Blue Fairy presiding over its procession, the Main Street Electrical Parade made its illuminating mark on Walt Disney's original "Magic Kingdom" from 1972 to 1994.
* Plate # 4: In 1995, Disneyland celebrated "40 Years of Adventures" with the opening of the Indiana Jones Adventure, where the Temple of the Forbidden Eye remains an iconic Adventureland mystery.
